EMSCULPT vs. EMTONE®

EMSCULPT primarily focuses on muscle toning and building, using high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to induce powerful muscle contractions. It is particularly useful for strengthening and toning muscles in the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. EMSCULPT can create a more sculpted and defined appearance, making it an ideal choice for individuals looking to enhance muscle definition or address concerns related to muscle laxity.

On the other hand, EMTONE targets cellulite and skin texture concerns. It employs a combination of radiofrequency (RF) and targeted pressure energy to improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of cellulite. EMTONE’s RF technology heats the skin, promoting collagen production and enhancing skin tightening.

These two procedures can be used together as part of a comprehensive treatment plan to address multiple issues. By addressing skin quality and texture, EMTONE complements the muscle-focused benefits of EMSCULPT, making the two treatments a powerful body sculpting combination.

How Does EMSCULPT Work?

EMSCULPT uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to make your muscles rapidly contract. It creates the same effect of working out but much faster and deeper.

Am I a Candidate for EMSCULPT?

If you’ve been putting in work at the gym but are struggling to achieve the muscle definition you’d like to see, you are likely a candidate for EMSCULPT. It’s important to note that EMSCULPT is not a weight-loss treatment and works best in combination with a healthy lifestyle. For nonsurgical fat reduction on the abdomen or flanks, you may also be a good candidate for EON®, an FDA-cleared, touchless laser body contouring procedure.

What Is the EMSCULPT Treatment Experience Like?

EMSCULPT treatments typically take 30 minutes. During your treatment, you’ll lie down and relax as the device sends pulses through your muscles. Most people say each session feels like an intense workout.

Is There Any Downtime After EMSCULPT?

You can return to your usual routine right away after an EMSCULPT. You may feel some post-workout soreness in your muscles for the next couple of days.

How Many EMSCULPT Treatments Will I Need?

We recommend a minimum of 4 sessions scheduled 2 to 3 days apart. We’ll create a customized plan for you tailored to your specific goals.

How Soon Will I See Results?

You begin to feel tangible results right after your treatment. Most people report positive results 2 to 4 weeks after their last session, with continued improvement for several weeks.

Is EMSCULPT Better Than CoolSculpting®?

Emsculpt and CoolSculpting are different treatments used for different purposes. If you are already fairly lean and want to achieve better muscle definition, EMSCULPT is a better treatment for you. If you have rolls of “pinchable” fat that you want to be rid of, CoolSculpting can be an excellent option. During your consultation, your provider will explain the benefits of each option and recommend the best approach for you.

Does EMSCULPT Really Work?

Yes! EMSCULPT has been clinically tested for safety and efficacy through 13 clinical studies.*

*Results and patient experience may vary. Patients shown in the B&A pictures are within +/- 5 lbs of their original weight unless specified.

EMSCULPT FAQs

How Long Do EMSCULPT Results Last?

EMSCULPT results generally last 6 months to a year, depending on individual factors such as lifestyle, diet, and exercise habits. To preserve your results, your provider may recommend maintenance sessions.

Does the Treatment Hurt?

During the EMSCULPT procedure, you’ll experience intense muscle contractions, which can feel unusual but are not typically painful. Some individuals may find the sensation slightly uncomfortable, but it is generally well-tolerated.

Does EMSCULPT Help With Cellulite?

EMSCULPT is primarily designed to strengthen and tone muscles and is not specifically intended for cellulite reduction. However, the muscle toning and fat reduction achieved with EMSCULPT may indirectly improve the appearance of cellulite in some cases.

To address cellulite directly, EMTONE can be used as a complementary treatment.

Will the Treatment Tighten Skin?

EMSCULPT primarily focuses on muscle enhancement and fat reduction. While the increase in muscle mass can contribute to improved skin tone and firmness in the treated area, it may not provide the same level of skin tightening as Ultherapy®, which is specifically designed to address skin laxity.

Does the Treatment Burn Calories?

EMSCULPT’s intense muscle contractions can increase energy expenditure, contributing to calorie burning. However, the primary goal of EMSCULPT is to build and tone muscles, not burn calories.
